PERMACULTURA CHILE
A new national institute forms in Chile.
In September 2007 we hosted David Holmgren and Su Dennett on a tour of the nation, we mobilised 1000 people in an online network, we created a team that turned into the Eco Office to represent ecovillage projects and generate a sustainability network(http://www.permacultura.cl/eco). In Febuary 2008 we ran the first full residential PDC in this country, with 24 students. They decided to create an instituto. We held a permacultura public meeting in Fundo El Manzano (Apple Tree Farm), created a vision, mission and objectives. We have since created work teams and a structure of making decisions spread from one end of Chile to the other. In May this year we opened the permaculture diploma doorway to students here and have since run two diploma orientation workshops with 15 students. We will keep you posted.
